Thanks for your interest in Metro Dog Waste Removal! We are committed to providing our customers with professional, affordable, satisfaction guaranteed service. With the average dog leaving 2-3 "calling cards" every day, it doesn't take long for waste to accumulate. We believe that frequent, consistent maintenance is the best way to handle the inevitable task of cleaning up after our dogs. By providing year round service 7 days a week, we want to make this a chore you will never have to worry about again!

Located in Norwalk, our business is registered and insured. Our service area includes all of the greater Des Moines area, including Indianola, Carlisle, Ankeny, and the western suburbs.  We are lifelong Des Moines area residents and dog owners, and have over 30 years management experience in the retail service industry. If you have a question concerning our service that is not covered below,  please send us an email or call!

Q:  What happens to the waste – do you just leave it in my trash?

A:  No. By our standards, we feel that the bacteria, pests, and odors stemming from your dog’s waste should be completely removed from your property, not simply relocated to your trash container.

Q: If I want to schedule regular service, how often should I have you come?

A: Once or twice a week service are the most popular options, but we want you to choose what fits your needs best.  Frequent service has many advantages, including:
Q: If I don't schedule regular service, will you come on a "one time" or "as needed" basis?

A: Sure! If you want to have your yard cleaned periodically at your discretion, we'll be glad to come when you need us. The pricing for this service is based on the amount of waste we collect, regardless of how many dogs you have. The cost for the first five gallons of waste collected is $20, and each additional five gallons is $10. Payment for these cleanings is due at the time of service, so we will need to come when someone is home.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract?

A: There are no contracts to sign. You may start or stop anytime, but we ask that you give us at least a one day notice when you no longer want service.

Q: Can I increase or decrease my level of service?

A: Yes. Notify us by email or phone, and any changes will go into effect at your next scheduled cleaning.  If, however, you don't want service at least once a week, any future cleanings will be subject to our "one time rate" described above and in the pricing section.

Q: Do you provide service all year round?

A: Absolutely! Dog waste accumulates no matter what time of year it is. Ninety percent of our customers keep their service year round, for several good reasons including:

Q: Are there any weather conditions that you don’t work in?

A: Our philosophy is based on consistent, reliable service. We will do everything we can to clean your yard when you are scheduled. In warmer weather, lightning or very heavy rain might cause us to postpone a day or two. In the colder months, a significant snowfall may mean we will have to postpone up to a week. You will never be charged for missed cleanings due to weather.

Q: Should I unlock my gate?

A: If it is your scheduled service day, your gate must be unlocked for us to access your yard. We will not climb over due to risk of injury and potential damage to your fence.

Q: Can you work with my dog in the yard?

A: In most cases, yes. We are life long dog owners and lovers, but the real decision is up to your dog. If he/she has a problem with us being there, you will have to keep him/her in until we have finished.

Q: You came to clean on my scheduled day but couldn’t get in. Will I be charged?

A: If your gate was locked or your dog wouldn’t let us in, we will not charge for the first time this happens. Some people need time to remember we’re coming on a certain day. Also, your dog may have been fine when you were there, but not when left alone. We will, however, charge your normal fee after the first occurrence.

Q: What can I do to help get the best cleaning possible?

A: Our biggest enemy is camouflage – anything that waste can hide in or under! Long grass and excessive amounts of leaves make finding all those "canine land mines" more difficult. Frequent raking and mowing helps make us more effective in our quest to find all of your dog's handywork.

Q: What are your payment terms?

A: One-time cleanings are due at the time of service. Regularly scheduled service is billed at the end of each month, with payment due the 15th of the month following the service. There is a $5.00 late fee if your payment is not postmarked by the 15th. We accept personal checks, PayPal, cash, or money orders.  You can choose to have your statement sent by email or regular postal mail.
